Workbench Wednesday: Lumber Loads

    I just had a week-long vacation.  Much of the vacation was spent down in the basement, and most of that time was spend sitting at my workbench making wrapped lumber loads.

    I followed the plans outlined in the Lumber Loads post on the Algoma Central in HO Scale blog.  It's a great blog entry full of all the resources that I needed. Thank you Chris van der Heide for making this project much easier.  If you're interested in making inexpensive lumber loads, check out the entry. 



    There was one substitution that I made, I used foam instead of wood.   I some scrap foam that matched the scale height I needed.  The foam was easier to cut and use.  Sanding the top of the foam helped make a more realistic appearance to the lumber loads.


    These are needed as part of a larger layout project that I'll write about in a future blog post, but you can see some of what I'm up to in this photo below.
